Job Description:

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is currently looking for an ADAS Test and Development Engineer at our Proving Ground in California City, California.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

Evaluate and verify ADAS systems performance at the vehicle level and against defined requirements in a proving ground environment as well as on public roads Perform vehicle-level tuning of ADAS functions with the support of system suppliers that meet market and customer performance requirements Identify potential customer complaint issues, investigate problem root causes, and develop appropriate countermeasures Plan and execute vehicle level testing and development on prototype and pilot vehicles Analyze customer feedback, media reviews, and new regulations & standards Develop test procedures, test methods, guidelines, calibration strategies, test instrumentations and advanced data analysis & modeling tools Plan and execute benchmarking activities on competitive vehicles Provide technical support to Hyundai and Kia manufacturing plants Support in Autonomous vehicle development Create and present clear & concise technical reports Work in a small team environment as well as independently Travel up to 30%, domestically and internationally to support product development and testing

Preferred Skills and Experience:

• Master of Science degree with emphasis in Controls
• 3 or more years of automotive experience in testing, development, and calibration
• 2 or more years of ADAS testing and development experience
• Thorough Knowledge of vehicle advanced driver assistance systems (for example, Adaptive Cruise Control (SCC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA),…)
• Good understanding of vehicle dynamics and chassis systems (brake & steering systems)
• Knowledge of vehicle test methods, tools, and procedures
• Ability to work with computer based tools to collect and analyze data including Matlab/Simulink, ETAS/INCA, …
• Capability to take initiative to solve issues with little or no direction with attention to detail
• Good project management and technical writing skills
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional discipline activities
• Flexibility in handling multiple projects and changing priorities
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse team environment

Required Experience:

• Bachelors of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science
• Valid Driver’s License and satisfactory driving record
